Hestia Makes Space Viewing More Accessible by Turning Your Smartphone into a Telescope

The Hestia telescope is designed to work in tandem with your smartphone, using a separate optical system (30 mm /1.18-inch lens, with 25x optical zoom, and 1.8-degree field of view) to view objects in the sky.

When your smartphone is mounted atop the Hestia and auto-magnetically aligned with the eyepiece, it will be capable of snapping pictures of objects like the moon, the sun, the Orion Nebula, and the Pleiades open cluster.

The Gravity app allows you to not only take and store pictures, but also gives you access to a wide range of controls over the Hestia itself.

Sized at 6.7 x 9.5 x 2.2 inches, it weighs about 1 pound and comes with a ¼-inch tripod thread that lets you easily mount it on a tripod for hands-free viewing.

It also is compatible with a wide range of accessories, including motorized mount, finderscope, solar filter, and a hard case, all of which are available via the Vaonis website.
