Thule Introduces Outset – the First Hitch-Mounted Tent

Just because your car or SUV doesn’t have a roof sturdy enough for a roof tent doesn’t mean you’re out of luck. The Thule Outset shifts focus away from your roof and instead gives you a tent designed to hitch to your vehicle—but it’s lightweight enough that virtually any car or minivan can pull it.

The tent can be pulled via the standard hitch, or it can be packed down small enough to throw into the back of your truck.

When it comes time to camp, simply unfold the accompanying stand and expand the unfolding tent. The soft-shell tent weighs surprisingly little while still being sturdy enough to withstand rough weather, and it’s got space enough to comfortably sleep two.

Thanks to the telescoping legs, you’ll easily be able to adjust the stand to ensure you’ve got your tent pitched on level, solid ground.
